A Bi-folding door is an intelligent solution to a variety of interior door opening challenges. A door which folds smaller and neatly to one side is ideal when there is limited space for a standard door such as in a kitchen, bathroom W.C. or cupboard situation. Since 1999 we have supplied 1000’s of bi-folding doors proving their effectiveness and popularity. Alternatively, the larger kits such as the Westbury Range offer a good design solution for opening up larger spaces between rooms by providing a flexible room divider system. The doors used for this system have an engineered core for stability then Oak veneered and glazed with clear toughened glass. This style allows maximum light and vision between rooms. Internal Bi-fold doors are offered in a variety of designs from traditional 4, 6 and 8 panels in solid or with glazed panels to contemporary styles such as pattern 10.  The standard widths manufactured are to fit openings of 24, 27 and 30 inches (refer to metric converter). The thickness of the doors will generally be 35mm but some are 27mm, dependent on the manufacturer.  Timber choices are pine, oak and white moulded.  However, customised, doors using other standard designs alternative timbers is possible if a suitable track can be fitted.

The Bi-fold doors with 2 leaves offer a variety of design choices including traditional 4, 6 and 8 panels in solid or with glazed panels to more contemporary styles such as the Shaker pattern 10. Standard widths manufactured are to fit openings of 24, 27 and 30 inches (refer to metric converter). The thickness of the doors will generally be 35mm but some are 27mm, dependent on the manufacturer please check when ordering if this is important to you. Timber choices are pine, oak and white moulded. Bi-fold internal door kits are usually 78inches in height that includes the height of the relevant track. Internal folding doors do not use hinges for the frame fixing as they are hung from the top track, fixed to the underside of the frame. The sections of the door are hinged together allowing them to fold when the door slides along the track folding one panel onto the other, so reducing the overall width.
