The Shaker four panel glazed door (obscure glass) is a simple design but very functional, the obscure glass allows light to flood in as well as ensuring some privacy. This design was first introduced by English settlers migrating to America at the end of the 18th Century. These people were known as Shakers who produced simple yet practical furniture which was often admired due to the innovative joinery techniques used.
